It was daunting at first to consider myself a visual artist of any sort. I'm a musician. I've written songs about my family, but this is different.
I drew from my identification with Jo, the tomboy part, the hair, the "point, shoot, aim" qualities which I shared. My sister, 10 years older, and I were more like a mother/daughter pair and she was not fond of the long hair.
I saw a way and agreed to contribute. The front piece of my new copy of "Little Women", I realized, not having studied it closely, was a cameo of Jo twirling a strand of her long hair. So, yes, there's hair in there. Probably a song as well.
